General Job Description:

Perform routine activities to ensure that the building is clean, safe and in excellent operating condition.

Position Requirements:

The position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma, three years of custodial experience in a school setting, experience in a leadership role of some type, and the ability to work well with others. The position also requires strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas
• Set up and tear down cafeteria before and after lunch. Dispose of garbage and wash cafeteria floor.
• Set up tables, chairs and other equipment for special events.
• Perform repairs to building, mechanicals, furniture and custodial equipment.
• Assist with morning and afternoon traffic patrol.
• Perform monthly inspections of the fire extinguishers, emergency lights and AEDs.
• Respond to emergency clean ups and repairs.
• Assist with the operation of building burglar alarm, fire alarm, and clocks.
• Use a power lift to perform cleaning and repairs at heights to thirty feet.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• The ability to lift fifty pounds
• The ability to work on ladders
• The ability to work at heights up to thirty feet
• The ability to work with chemicals, paints, cleaning products and dust
