As a Custodian, you will:

• Perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of campus academic buildings such as offices, halls, conference rooms, classrooms, restrooms, locker, and shower rooms.
• Receive training, guidance, and supervision to obtain necessary skills and learn how to use equipment.
• Scrub, strip, refinish and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors.
• Mix cleaning solution per instruction.
• Collect and dispose of refuse.
• Clear snow and ice from steps of immediate building area(s).

What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications):

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios.
• Ability to gain knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work at either City or East campus.

*Full-time and part-time positions are available.

*Note: 1,2,3,4 are position levels depending upon your qualifications and pay is commensurate on experience with a minimum of $15.00 per hour for level 1. Depending upon the level of experience and skills, you may also:

• Train and oversee work of others
• Work hours on-call including BBP cleanup & response – other emergency calls during shift
• Use non-riding and non-autonomous equipment
• Ride required equipment, including programming equipment
• Order supplies for multiple buildings and custodians
