8 hours per week (Part Time)
The City of Attleboro seeks a part time Building Custodian /Laborer for the Police Department to perform custodial and minor repair tasks in maintaining department buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean orderly fashion.
Duties include sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, buffs floors, cleans windows, and removes trash. Cleans woodwork, walls, wainscoting, lavatories, drinking fountains, toilet facilities, dusts in common areas. Checks and restocks bathroom supplies. Cleans and disinfects Cell Block area, including prisoner cells. Cleans employee break room. Runs errands, distributes mail and deliveries. Inspects buildings to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair. Performs minor plumbing maintenance. Performs various repairs and maintenance duties. Removes snow from sidewalk and other areas. Participates in snow and ice program. Performs related work as required.
Requires working knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment ordinarily employed in maintaining the clean and orderly condition of municipal buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and two years in property maintenance and janitorial work or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid driver’s license required.
