Credit Supervisor (7AM-3:30 PM) Job at Matco
This position will work on a hybrid schedule:
Mondays and Fridays from home, and Tuesdays through Thursdays at Matco's corporate office in Stow, Ohio
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
You will be a team member within the Financial Services organization. You will be required to lead the day-to-day activity related to our franchisee/distributor portfolio. You will be responsible for leading the team with a focus on excellent customer service, making credit decisions related to our distributor customer base, evaluating accounts, and reviewing credit history/creditworthiness.
Your team of Credit Analysts extends credit daily to distributors (franchisees) and releases orders in a timely manner and in advance of deadlines. In addition, monitoring of franchisee promissory notes for delinquency and inventory collateral exposure is required within this team. As a member of Financial Services, the Distributor Credit Team provides service and support to over 1,900 Matco franchisees in the US and Canada.
You will lead Credit Analysts servicing our distributors in a team-based, collaborative environment. You will be responsible for supervising and engaging your team while providing coaching, development, motivation, and direction. You will utilize a hands-on approach to oversee the day-to-day credit activities of the department, as well as a high focus on excellent customer service.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead a team of Credit Analysts on day shift
- Provide excellent customer service for distributor customer base with a focus on communication and timeliness
- Coordinate work schedules to ensure credit orders are released and portfolio of past due accounts is worked timely
- Monitor phone service levels, inbound and outbound volume, to ensure ASA and abandon levels meet goals
- Monitor team KPIs and targets, assess trends and areas for improvement
- Field distributor escalated calls
- Oversee the process for distributor credit extension; lead team who is accountable for management of their region and portfolio
- Responsible for collection of former franchise financial obligations including product tool returns and cash recovery
- Review credit extension rules and procedures
- Responsible for the collection of invoices for commercial accounts
- Review and analyze credit applications for commercial customers utilizing D&B financial reports
- Supervise A/R function
- Responsible for timely and accurate cash application and balancing
- Responsible for Bank of America payments process and fielding questions as needed
- Coach and develop staff to improve performance to attain KPIs and development goals
- Effectively manage communications with distributors and credit analysts during regular meetings and daily interaction; establish ongoing cadence for communication
- Address associate issues in a timely manner, including corrective action when necessary
- Complete and conduct quarterly reviews and annual evaluations

WHO YOU ARE
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years background in lending, credit processes, and customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills-verbal, written, and presentation
- Intermediate computer skills-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- 2-3 years supervisory, team lead, or related experience
