As a dedicated member of the OnPath FCU team, this role performs a variety of tasks that in partnership with the surrounding departments, provides cost effective financial services for the benefit of our members who are our primary focus. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for performing the credit analysis function including but not limited to receiving financial data on prospective and active borrowing accounts; analyzing data and evaluating short- and long-run prospects of the individual or company; providing thorough documentation of all financial analysis work, including financial spreads, ratios and other related information, recommending appropriate risk ratings, suggesting appropriate covenants, and providing recommendations on lending decisions. Working directly with borrowers and lenders, including Commercial, Residential, and Consumer, to verify information, obtain additional credit information, and to discuss financial statements; ensuring that all credit analysis activities and underwriting are conducted in accordance with lending policy and procedures. Additionally, maintaining awareness of current industry standards relating to credit analysis, regulatory changes, compliance processes and local economic trends. There is also responsibility for risk based and proactive monitoring and review of existing credits in the commercial portfolio and underwriting vendors involved with construction and development financing. Works directly with the Director of Risk on any Commercial Credits as it relates to concentration, limits, and overall sound credit recommendations. Lending authority for this position is considered a Consumer Loan Officer 3 with limits as stated in the Lending Authority Policy.

Focus Strategy:

Consumer Lending- Oversee Junior Lenders decision making, missed opportunities, coaching, tracking performance and reporting monthly KPIs

Residential Lending- Review Mortgage Loan packages for underwriting and compliance making credit recommendations following policy and procedure

Commercial Lending -Review renewals & new loan requests and make credit recommendations following policy and procedure

Indirect Lending – review indirect auto Applications as needed as part of the current Indirect Lending workflow, policy and procedures

Provide independent, in-depth analysis of borrower financial reporting, projections, and business plans; that clearly identify and mitigate key risks.

Provide high quality and responsive service to our members, member prospects, and internal business partners

Oversee Consumer Loan Officers sound decision making and turnaround times, tracking and reporting.

Assess overall credit worthiness and financial health of member and prospective member borrowers, related borrowers, guarantors, general contractors, builders, and other vendors as needed.

Perform thorough risk assessment identification & financial analysis of various types of lending proposals

Analyze financial information such as tax returns, debt schedules, balance sheets, income and cash flow statements, and periodic financial reporting of all types

Evaluate and properly value collateral values and calculate accurate LTVs

Analyze historical company performance, the impact of industry and competitive dynamics and macroeconomic events on the current and future creditworthiness of members and prospects

Perform loan level stress testing of financial results, collateral and credit variables on appropriate loan types and risk exposures

Determine appropriate risk ratings for commercial credits at origination and make lending recommendations

Assist Commercial Lenders on member/prospect visits of more complex credits

Actively participate in meetings integral to the decisioning, monitoring and annual review of commercial loans

Identify additional credit union business and consumer product cross-sell opportunities during the underwriting process and share those with the Commercial Lender

Proactively identify risk rating changes due to business performance deterioration or improvement during appropriate financial reviews

Make timely reviews of draw and change order requests for construction and development loans then make appropriate funding recommendations to the Commercial Lender

Reviews, validates, and underwrites Residential Loan applications and makes recommendations following secondary market (FNMA) underwriting guidelines as well as OnPath FCU policies and guidelines

Reviews, underwrites and decisions Consumer Loan requests within the LOS to determine sound credit worthiness, ability to repay according to the Consumer loan policy and underwriting matrix

Stay informed of regulatory, policy and procedural requirements to ensure compliance throughout the underwriting and credit administration processes

Keep well informed as to market economic conditions as it relates to assessing credit risk.

Ensure compliance with internal credit union commercial loan policy, credit risk management policy and external regulatory requirements; documents any exceptions to policy and related rationale/mitigates

Perform other duties as assigned by management of the credit union



BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency with financial spreads and global debt service calculations

Possess a highly detailed oriented personality

Developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the credit union to manage internal and external member relationships.

Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word, Excel, Salesforce.com, Visible Equity, and other business machines and platforms.

Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and mission driven environment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or Statistics preferred; 3 or more years of commercial credit analysis experience; or equivalent combination of experience.

OTHER SKILLS

In-depth knowledge of cash flow lending and global debt service coverage

Strong financial and analytical skills supported by formal commercial credit and cash flow training

Fundamental skills in the use of proprietary or non-proprietary analytical and related software supported by expert level skills in the use of Microsoft Excel

Expert ability to review and analyze all forms of financial reporting

Fundamental knowledge of risk analysis

Effective technical report writing skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-solving, and problem-prevention skills.

Ability to work independently

Solid knowledge of the local economy

Knowledge and understanding of loan portfolio management

Familiarity with GAAP
