The role you’ll contribute:

The Credentialing Assistant works under moderate supervision of the Manager of Medical Staff Services and is responsible for helping with Credentialing of Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals, files maintenance, meeting preparations, and for the front office in the Medical Staff Services Department.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Proficient in utilization of the Medical Staff Credentialing database and producing reports as needed.
  • Ensure that Allied Health Professional and/or Medical Staff files for appointment and reappointment are prepared and completed timely and accurately.
  • Notifies physicians of meetings by sending notices, reminders, and at times phone calls.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely credentials information data entry/scanning.
  • Collect and copy minutes for Medical Executive Committee and other meetings as needed.
  • Notifies Dietary and Environmental Services of meeting needs for food and set up in a timely manner.
  • Take minutes at meetings as directed.
  • Ensure organization of files, by keeping filing up to date.
  • Timely and efficiently handles requests and/or questions via phone, email or in person with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Handles incoming and outgoing mail and routes to appropriate personnel.
  • Electronically distributes applications to initial and reappointment applicants when necessary.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

  • HS or GED

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prefer some medical staff credentialing experience and/or six (6) months clerical experience.
