Job Summary: The Staff Counselor works collaboratively with the Director of Counseling Services and one other part-time counselor to provide mental health services to enhance students' academic, social, and emotional functioning. Counselors work within the Office of Student Life and in collaboration with OSL personnel to promote the creation of a safe and healthy community.
Essential Functions:
- Provide individual and group counseling for Hanover students;
- Provide consultation to faculty and staff on mental health/substance abuse issues;
- Maintain confidential electronic medical record of all counseling services provided.
Other Responsibilities:
- Share on-call responsibilities for after-hours urgent/emergency consultation and assessments.
- Provide psychoeducation and training to campus groups as requested by Director of Counseling Services.
- Collaboration and referral to community resources.
Job Qualifications:
Education required: Minimum of Master's Degree
Experience required: Minimum of 2 – 5 years
Skills required: State Licensure required.
