We will provide the necessary training on site. There are 2 Counselor Assistant positions. 1 position is in Residential Rehabilitation and 1 position is in Detox/Stabilization.

Summary:

The Counselor Assistants will work in our Residential Rehabilitation Unit OR the Detox/Stabilization Unit and will assist primary caseload counselor in the execution of services to be provided to the clients. The Counselor Assistant will supervise clients in the residential program, assist in daily living skills coaching, maintain a safe and secure environment, conduct searches, facilitate educational groups, provide direct supervision to clients, accompany clients to appointments as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Screening, Orientation, Case Management, Basic Crisis Response Intake, Group Co-facilitator; Psychoeducation; Referral.
2. Care Coordination; Reporting and Recordkeeping.
3. Recreational outings, direct supervision of clients.
4. Facilitates visiting, escorts clients to appointments as needed.
5. Facilitates recreational outings and activities.
6. Assists clients in Daily Living Skills, facilitate unit milieu schedule.
7. Provides motivational groups as per scopes of practice.
8. Completes shift documentation timely and accurately.
9. Participates in staff meetings, in-services, case conference and rounds as assigned.
10. Maintains a clean and orderly unit.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Working conditions and physical demands:
Potential for unpredictable clients or clients under stressful situations that require consistent support. Must have the ability to climb stairs, moving freely (bend, stoop, stand)
