Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in the delivery of patient care as established by the licensed Occupational Therapist to reach treatment goals through a written treatment plan. The COTA will be responsible for maintaining patient records. The COTA maintains good communication with physicians, licensed therapists, nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, discharge planners, and hospital personnel. The COTA participates in continuous quality improvement and strives to excel in customer service. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant/child, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The COTA actively participates in occupational therapy activities and in services training.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of a two-year college program for Occupational Therapy Assistants. Associate degree that has been approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Successful completion of NBCOT certification examination for Occupational Therapy Assistant

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Minimum Work Experience:

• One year experience in Acute/Rehabilitation Therapy, preferred.
