Title I Summer Enrichment Program
Program Coordinators
(2 total - 1 K-2; 1 Gr. 3-5)
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
- Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of standards based curriculum in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
- Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
- Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and
- administrators.
- Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Valid Massachusetts Administrator license as a principal/assistant principal and/or supervisor/director.
- Previous experience leading summer or after school programs preferred.
- Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
- ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
- License in Special Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate referral process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with principals, teachers, and parents.
- Order/process materials.
- Coordinate implementation of literacy and math instruction during the program.
- Meet with curriculum directors in reading and math to develop and plan for summer instruction.
- Maintain student attendance records.
- Write a program evaluation document.
- Coordinate pre- and post-assessments on all students in literacy and math.
- Coordinate staff development meetings including 2 in-service days.
- Support inclusion of a key professional development practice, i.e. reciprocal teaching, QAR, or other strategy within the summer program.
- Coordinate with Title I Office to maintain payroll records of teachers.
Duration:
Program Administration and Implementation 176 hours total to include the following:
- Professional In-service Days June 27 - 28 (5 hours each day).
- 18 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 5 – August 3 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
- Please note the first week of the program will run Wednesday and Thursday ONLY (7/5-7/6).
- Pre/Post Program Work: 66 hours (April 15 – August 21).
Stipend: $37 an hour, $6,512.00 total
