Coordinator II - Auditor-Licensing Job at Whatcom County, WA
The Auditor's Office has an opening for the position of Coordinator II for Recording/Licensing.
Key duties include:
Oversees the daily work of the Recording and Licensing division of Whatcom County Auditor’s Office to ensure accurate, efficient, and courteous service to the public.
Oversees the processing of title applications and/or registrations for vehicles and vessels; balances cash drawers, audits daily paperwork, and maintains daily transmittals.
Assures collection and deposit of daily funds to appropriate accounts.
Assists citizens, financial institutions, dealers, and title companies with titling and licensing information and provides the most current information on laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Responsible for performing cashiering, auditing, and manual and computerized record keeping functions associated with recording documents, licensing and titling vehicles and vessels in Whatcom County, as well as the collection of excise taxes and transaction fees. Receives, investigates, and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints.
Oversees the retention of records as defined in Department of Licensing Policies & Procedures and Whatcom County guidelines. Maintains inventory of license tabs, plates, and supplies; orders supplies and maintains appropriate records.
Provides or coordinates staff training; monitors workflow; assigns work activities and projects.

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

Hiring rate depends on qualifications. This position receives annual pay increases to the next step in the associated salary range (approx. 3.8%) subject to satisfactory performance, in addition to any negotiated Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA). 2023 COLA currently in negotiations.
Requires an Associates degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Recording, Licensing or a related field, including experience coordinating workload distribution and providing staff training.
Experience with DRIVES – Washington State licensing computer system.
Knowledge of Washington State Department of Licensing policies and procedures.
Requires the ability to:
Work with sub-agent employees to create positive working relationships for addressing and resolving mutual problems.
Type accurately and proficiently with a speed of 50 net words per minute and use a calculator by touch with accuracy at 150 strokes per minute.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a driving record that meets County standards and possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and throughout employment.
Must possess Qualified or Certified status as a Vehicle Licensing Representative, and maintain throughout employment.
