Offering more than 100 certificate, associate and bachelor’s degree programs, Daytona State College (DSC) has responded to the education and workforce training needs in our region for more than 60 years. The college enrolls nearly 25,000 students annually at its seven instructional sites, with graduates serving in critical fields including health care, emergency services, business, education, hospitality, engineering, technology and more.
Required Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor's degree in education, counseling or a closely related field and one (1) year of related experience.
The starting salary is $39,000.00.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides academic advising, transfer support, financial aid counseling and academic coaching for a caseload of program participants. Develops short-term and long-term educational and career objectives/goals, monitor students’ progress, and will implement the overall process to ensure persistence, graduation, and transition to a four-year institution. Makes referrals with college-wide community to meet students’ academic needs. Maintains student files and updates program record system to document services and student progress on weekly and annual basis.
- Coordinates speakers and/or develops and presents curriculum for academic and financial student workshops for monthly meetings and annual conferences. Coordinates use of facilities, and secures instructional materials, equipment, and other supportive services as needed to facilitate programs.
- Coordinate first-year summer bridge program including marketing, recruiting, scheduling, logistics, and internal paperwork.
- Coordinate and promote transfer college visits to various institutions and cultural trips.
- Assist with the hiring, training, and supervising of peer tutoring and front desk work study positions. Coordinate the tutor schedule for program participants.
- Recruits and promotes SSS program through campus-wide and community presentations and preparation and dissemination of announcements, brochures, and other correspondence.
- Attends or conducts professional meetings to exchange information, attends professional seminars or conferences to improve professional skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must possess knowledge of Business English, spelling and punctuation and be skilled in operations of Microsoft Office and management information system databases for documenting counseling/advising and reporting performance outcomes, (Student Access and People Soft). This individual must be able to follow complex directions, handle multiple priorities and solve problems, and be able to act independently to plan, initiate and complete assignments. They must also be able to function effectively in a team environment and grasp concepts quickly.
