Data Analyst, HSQE
The Data Analyst will engage in and support activities to assist the ongoing development of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management (HSQE) System. The ideal candidate would have a survey or engineering background. The Analyst will create reports, perform analyses on various HSE data, and initiate or coordinate research activities supporting selected projects. In addition, they would monitor ABS HSE trends and performance for worldwide operations and the overall organization as directed. They would periodically visit the field and site offices to support assessment and audit activities.
What You Will Do
- Supports the HSQE team in developing and promoting the overall HSE programs and objectives.
- Periodically travels to both ABS and external client facilities to carry out HSE assessments, audits, and training as well as gagatherield data in support of HSE program needs.
- Promotes the ABS HSQE Management System, including HSQE Policy and Objectives, throughout the organization and incorporates it into daily tasks.
- Supports field operations as a subject matter expert for the ABS Health and Safety Incident Management (HSIM).
- Facilitates health & safety briefings and gives lessons and training on the HSQE management system.
- Assists in the development of HSE initiatives and support tools as part of long-range objectives created in order to improve company HSE performance.
- Catalogs and digests compiled data to determine industry activities/trends and other relevant information.
- Develops and distributes analysis and reports to the HSQE management team, summarizing HSE management system information and performance data.
- Development of HSE training materials in support of organizational programs and objectives.
- Supports incident investigation activities as per relevant procedures and work instructions.
- Reviews and approves incident reports and other safety assessments in HSIM.
- Conduct internal audits and act as an escort to support external audit activities both locally and at offsite ABS locations and facilities worldwide.
What You Will Need
Education & Experience
- Qualifications from a tertiary institution within a relevant field of engineering, HSE, or physical science (minimum two (2) years program); or
- Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship officer, and
- Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of identified tasking per this job description.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical field preferred.
- Survey or engineering background strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Considerable demonstrated analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills with a focus on datasheet and database creation, data analytics, and advanced knowledge of office suite software (including document processing and presentation development applications).
- The knowledge and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, concerning technical issues to laymen and experts.
- Knowledge of related technical disciplines.
- The ability to work well with others.
- Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
