Qualifications:

· High school graduate preferred.

· Must have a valid Food Handlers Card.

· Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.

· Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.

· Basic understanding of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and Line Cooking procedures.

What it takes to be a Line Cook:

The Line Cook is responsible for helping with meal preparation of large batches of food that will be served to residents, employees, and guests in accordance with current regulatory standards and the established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

· Cleans, cuts, prepares, and Line Cooks meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature

· Prepares and Line Cooks various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or numbers of portions to be served

· Apportions and serves food to residents, guests, employees

· Washes Line Cooking equipment such as pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other pieces

· Develops, compiles, and maintains food records regarding use and expenditures

· Inventories supplies and equipment

· Ensures the cleanliness and functional operation of galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece.

· Properly handle chemicals and cleaning compounds using personal protective equipment and following proper safety guidelines

· Ensure that all work areas are clean and safe in accordance with sanitary, safety, and infections control procedures

· Demonstrate working knowledge of regulatory requirements as related to food preparation

· Practices good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health

· Performs job duties in accordance with best practices and residents’ plan of care

· Conducts self in a professional manner and in compliance with facility policies

· Promotes positive interactions with internal and external customers, visitors, residents, and team members

· Provides excellent customer service that supports resident care

· Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

· Participates in the identification of staff educational needs

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at all times.
• Non-slip shoes required as part of uniform.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
