Description:

• Ability to prepare food in a safe appetizing manner attractive to both the eye and palate.
• Food handlers are expected to comply with all current Federal, State, local standards, and established policies and procedures of this facility.
• Ability to understand, prepare, and follow therapeutic diets and special diet orders.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a cook in the Dietary Department of a long term care facility preferred.
• Safe Serve Certification
• High School Diploma
• Compliance with applicable health laws and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.
• Ability to speak read and write English.
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
• Must be able to lift and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
