General Summary:

The candidate must have the ability to work well with children and employees in a childcare setting. The Cook is responsible for ensuring the children are served nutritious meals and snacks according to the approved menu. It is the Cook's responsibility to prepare these meals and snacks by methods that maintain high nutrient levels and that are sanitary. Must become knowledgeable regarding CACFP requirements. As a licensed Type III center, we follow we are part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Daily Requirements include but not limited to:

• Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments; maintains an orderly, sanitary, and safe kitchen.
• Cook and serve breakfast
• Cook and serve lunch
• Cook/prepare and serve snack
• Must be able to cook for 200 children
• Must be an effective team player
• Assist children as needed
• Must be able to multi-task effectively
• Comply with the Food Program requirements
• Must work with Admin team to complete CACFP paperwork
• Wear hairnet daily while cooking and preparing food
• Adhere to scheduled serving times
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area including appliances
• Maintain the cleanliness of all areas related to food service
• Complete weekly food and supply inventory
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
• Complete daily/weekly cleaning schedule
• Have Physical capabilities – Must be able to lift 45lbs on a daily basis, numerous times a day
• Maintain 12 clock hours yearly
• Complete cafeteria required training
