Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Electrical Controls engineer in the South Charlotte NC area
Job Description
- As the Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete controls engineering function related to custom converting machines. The controls engineer’s scope of work includes preparing electrical drawings, programming
- PLCs, HMIs & drives, specifying control panel components for one-of-a-kind machines and working with our team of electricians to facilitate assembly and complete testing of the machine.
The Controls Engineer will utilize successful designs from previous Pinnacle machines as well as generate completely new custom designs for next generation machines. The controls engineer will also participate in various design reviews within Pinnacle and potentially with clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with sales on initial concept design for machines.
- Generate complete electrical schematics for the entire system.
- Specify, quote, and procure purchased parts for the machine.
- Perform all programming for PLCs, HMIs and Drives.
- Work closely with production during the machine build phase.
- Test all software functionality and assist with customer runoffs.
- Periodically work with clients to maintain or upgrade the machine over its life expectancy.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related controls experience.
- 5+ years industrial machinery experience
- Experience with high-speed web handling, open and closed loop tension controls.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Automation Direct, Siemens, Red Lion, Yaskawa, Unitronics and various robot components.
- Experience with AC Vector Drives
- Experienced in AutoCAD Software.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and Quickbooks.
