RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the financial and accounting system for the dealership
• Manage daily operations of the accounting department, cashiers and receptionists
• Maintain Internal controls to insure safety of company assets
• Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing, keeping a positive office culture and embracing company's core values.
• Reconcile the bank accounts for the dealership on a daily basis
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Process all insurance claims for the dealership including any workman's comp, Property and Casualty, and employer's liability claims.
• Review all financial schedules, accounts, and ledgers, making sure they are accurate and clean
• Prepare all state tax returns including sales and use tax, local taxes, and payroll taxes
• Prepare all quarterly and annual federal payroll tax returns including 940s, 941s, W-2's and W-3s as well as process 1099's for vendors
• Meet with the department managers to regularly review business matters and develop plans to increase profitability
• Ensure all human resources and payroll functions are operational and work cooperatively with the corporate office to handle employee issues as needed
• Cross-train in all accounting positions

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous automotive controller experience required

• Strong communications, customer service, leadership and organizational skills

• Excellent analytical ability

• High school diploma is necessary; college or advanced degree preferred

• Proficiency with Reynolds and Reynolds DMS is preferred, but not required

• Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
