Job Title: Controller
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Director of Finance
Classification: Exempt
Location: North Lake, WI, and South Beloit, IL
Travel: Hybrid Position. Will be required to be onsite at either location at least two to three times a week.
Job Summary:
The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations at the assigned facilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the facility-level accounting departments, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Leads the facilities’ closing process and ensures financial reporting meets corporate deadlines and complies with corporate policies
- Produces periodic financial reports; ensures the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards
- Performs analyses and prepares accounting journal entries related to numerous areas (prepaid, accruals, payroll, inventory, etc.)
- Performs monthly account reconciliations
- Produces budgets and forecasts; follows up on deviations
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
- Produces weekly cash flows; oversees A/R collections and works proactively with cash management
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
- Five years or more of related experience required
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new technologies
- Experience of (Infor) Visual ERP is a plus
