Umpqua Health is a Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) in Roseburg, Oregon that connects over 30,000 Douglas County OHP members to physical, dental, and behavioral health services and benefits through an integrated network of providers. Umpqua Health is currently seeking a Contract Specialist to join our team.
- Full-time Hybrid position in Roseburg, OR.

The Contract Specialist will assist in the preparation, review, monitoring and maintenance of provider contracts, leases and other contractual agreements. This position will also assist in ensuring compliance of applicable rules and regulations and serve in an administrative capacity for all contract matters.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Assist in the preparation and completion of required agreement information, documents, drafts and amendments. Enter information into computer system, prepare correspondence for approval, and validate contract assignments.
- Assist manager in producing proposals for contract rates and value-based care (VBC) arrangements, along with reporting framework and benchmarks.
- Work with Network Operations and leadership to assist in design, development and negotiation of provider contracts, including alternative payment methodologies.
- Assist with distribution of contract and fee schedules to providers and operational stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Finance and Data Support departments in identifying contracting and network development strategies.
- Maintain contracts in accordance with appropriate record retention procedures and internal controls.
- Assist in establishing schedules and methods to ensure contract compliance, including required timely payments and document management.
- Provide various agreement information to potential tenants, consultants, contractors, developers, legal counsel and other external entities.
- Respond to Request for Proposals (RFP) and solicitations.
- Ensure that contracting procedures are aligned and compliant.
- Communicate with internal staff to ensure fee schedules and payment terms are correctly loaded within the claims processing system.
- Facilitate positive interactions with administrative personnel to ensure contractual compliance.
- Work with third party health insurance payors on network panel leasing, and medical group practice contracts.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures.
- Comply with organization’s internal policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, along with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- AA degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
- 2-3 years health plan and/or healthcare experience.
- Experience as a Paralegal preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and timelines.
- Professional and succinct written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
