Job Location
This position will be required to report between our Watsonville and Salinas locations periodically.
Job Summary
As a Construction Project Coordinator, your key responsibilities will be to work with Project Managers and Field Crews to provide project support and ensure that projects are being completed accurately and in a timely manner. This position will be hands-on in the various phases of assigned projects, requiring a high level of skill in time management and multi-tasking. Coordination with internal departments, customers, and outside agencies with extreme attention to detail is essential to be successful in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel as needed to visit job sites
- Review job packs and confirm upcoming jobs are cleared, and ready for construction
- Review and interpret construction drawings and crew instructions
- Mark out & submit USA tickets and site survey requests
- Notify relevant government agencies regarding applicable planned work
- Coordinate inventory and deliveries
- Assist with tracking of materials, subcontractors, and expenses
- Support General Foreman with daily routine issues regarding the construction of jobs
- Gather close-out documentation from the field, compile and submit as-builts/completion packs to clients
- Make copies, file, and mail reports
- Reproduce maps, plans, diagrams and, drawings
- Find specs and order supplies and materials and prepare service orders as needed
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, customers, and all internal departments involved with the project, regarding project plan & design changes, identified problems, proposed solutions and estimated time frames
- Place barricades and signage as needed to notify customers of upcoming work
- Coordinate with the field crew and project management regarding any red-line changes
- Coordinate with the field crew to gather all required backup documentation; including LME signatures, pictures, etc. needed for completion packs, go-backs, and invoicing
- Coordinate necessary subcontractor services (traffic control, cranes, saw cutters, pavers, etc.), laydown yards, approved dump sites, etc. needed for jobs.
- Create and submit timecards, diaries, and quantities in a timely manner
- Support pre-construction activities including all dependencies to setup jobs for timely construction start
- Support construction crews during the construction phase to safely deliver a quality product

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- The ability to work weekends and overtime on an as needed basis
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize HCSS Heavy Job Field Management Software
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- 1-3 years of Construction Administration or related experience, preferably in the construction utility industry preferred but not required
Required: Successful candidates must pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: drug screen and background check. Background checks include, but are not limited to, Social Security Verification, Prior Employment Verification, Motor Vehicle Records, Personal and Professional References, Criminal History.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field (desired)
Compensation
The salary range for a Construction Project Coordinator in Salinas, CA is $28.68 - $47.30 per hour.
The above salary range represents MGE Underground, Inc.’s competitive compensation at the time of this job post. Pay within this range will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, skills/abilities, and applicable knowledge.
