- Support the goals of the unit as described and investigate, research, and stay abreast of trends within the industry as well as other assignments or duties as deemed appropriate.
- Aid in the analysis of the impacts and benefits of transportation projects on local, regional, and statewide economics, historically overburdened and underserved communities, reducing barriers to opportunity, and resiliency and sustainability of the State’s transportation infrastructure.
- Gather and utilize data regarding travel time savings, accessibility, and job creation to calculate the likely economic implications of transportation projects and programs.
- Report to a Grants and Contract Specialist and collaborate closely with/support the Government Relations Office as well as key personnel from all Bureaus regarding grant applications.

- For current state employees compensation will be in accordance with guidelines for computing salary adjustments set forth by the Department of Administrative Services, Determining Salary Upon Change in Class manual.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for mastering the skills necessary to satisfactorily complete the training program for a professional position.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Creating grant application materials.
- Responding to inquiries and comments on the Grant as needed.
- Aid in completing reporting requirements for Awarded Grants.
- Aid in completing Close-Out requirements for Awarded Grants.
- Aid in developing a data driven analysis of likely economic development implications of transportation projects and programs.
- Aid in developing a data driven analysis of impacts and benefits of transportation projects and programs to environmental justice communities and census tracts across the State.
- Researching technical topics including facts, figures, and statistics for grant applications.
- Performing cost/benefit analyses for grant applications.
- Gathering data necessary for completion of a Benefit Cost Analysis as part of a Grant application.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, Communication or Marketing, Urban or Regional Planning, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Statistics or similar.
- Experience or training with technical and/or creative/persuasive writing and editing experience through course work, work experience, or internships.
- Experience or training with data comparison, and analysis of census data through course work, work experience, or internships.
- Experience or training with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), use of GIS (geographic information systems), ESRI (environmental systems research institute) or similar software through course work, work experience, or internships.
- Experience or training communicating and working collaboratively within a team and with external groups through course work, work experience, or internships.
- Experience meeting deadlines.
- Experience utilizing organizational and time management skills.
