SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking a qualified Concrete Foreman for our growing concrete team. The Concrete Foreman will report to the General Superintendent. A successful candidate should have 2 or more years of experience with concrete work and form carpentry and should also have knowledge of reading blueprints and be able to manage the job efficiently. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 5 to 6 individuals
• Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications
• Plan and schedule for necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job
• Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs
• Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed
• Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch, depth, and alignment
• Install reinforcing rebar or wire mesh to strengthen the concrete
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float
• Mold expansion joints and edges using tools, jointers, and straightedge
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete
• Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
• Preform other related duties and responsibilities as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials
• Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and manipulating things
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions
• Must have transportation to get to assigned job sites
• Must be reliable to get to work on time, ready with all tools
