Description of Position:

The Doorman/Concierge works provides concierge services for our residents, families, and guests.

Responsibilities of the Doorman / Concierge:
Greet residents, guests, and visitors at the front entrance.

Open car doors and direct drivers to parking areas.

Assist residents on and off the community bus.

Keep vehicles from parking in fire lines and under the portico.

Keep the entrance and sidewalks clear of ice, snow, debris, etc.

Carry luggage, groceries, newspapers, and other items to rooms for residents.

Monitor the activities near the front door and lobby areas. Report anything suspicious.

Ensure that the policies and procedures are effective and enforced to support the health and safety of the residents.

Document resident status change and communicate changes to Business Office Manager / Administrator.

Cover the front desk and answer phones as necessary.

Verify that all doors are secure before leaving the property for the day.

Clean the lobby area, front hallways, library, card room, coffee bar, and main bathrooms.

Perform light maintenance and/or housekeeping needs for residents.

Review and utilize the Community’s disaster preparedness plan for staff and residents to follow in case of fire, explosion, natural disaster, or other emergency, including interruption of electrical power supply, gas-heating supply and water supply.

Attend required staff meetings and complete all necessary in-service training.

Review and follow the employee handbook guidelines, including dress code, conduct, scheduling, etc.

Other duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager / Administrator.

Position Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have a current valid driver’s license.

Must have an acceptable criminal background record check.

Must keep a current certification in emergency first aid and CPR.

Must have a clear tuberculosis screening upon hire to assure that the employee is free of diseases communicable within the scope of employment.

Must have a physical examination prior to employment and as required by the Community after an injury or illness to assure that the employee is physically qualified to work.

Must be able to bend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push, pull, squat, crouch, lift, carry, and move up to one hundred (100) pounds. Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10 hours.

Must have training in emergency evacuation procedures, medical and social needs of the residents, resident’s rights, abuse and neglect reporting, infection control, medication assistance, dementia, and courses relevant to the job duties.

Must obtain at least twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education the first year and sixteen (16) hours of continuing education courses each year thereafter.

Must attend mandatory staff meetings.

Employee must not be under the influence of alcohol or other substances while engaged in any work-related activity on behalf of the Community.

Must always be in company approved uniform.

Employee must wear a name tag at all times while on the property or engaged in any work- related activity on behalf of the Community.

Able to work various schedules, including weekends, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
