The District has a vacancy for a Computer Support Technician, beginning November 22, 2022.

Position Overview/General Duties:

The work involves responsibility for the implementation and upgrading of software for local area networks and microcomputer applications software. An employee in this class installs, operates and maintains personal computer software for the school district. This position also provides technical assistance for the district staff. Supervision is received from a higher ranking school official. Performs related work as required.

Specific Responsibilities/Instructional:

• Installs and maintains software( including upgrades) on local area networks(LAN)workstations and stand-alone personal computers for members of the school district.

• Troubleshoots software application problems on personal computers for the school district.

• Provides phone/email support of software applications.

• Assists in the duplication of software and tracks inventory of computer and software components.

• Maintains reports and records as required.

Technology Support:

• Good knowledge of the use and operation of personal computers and related peripheral equipment.

• Good working knowledge of operating systems application software packages.

• Good knowledge of computer network systems.

• Good organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work with others in a team environment and keep up with the changing technical field.

• Physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.

Salary & Benefits: Full-time, 12-month, Annual salary starting at $33,000. Applicable benefits pursuant to current Managerial Confidential Handbook.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associates Degree in Computer Science or closely related field, or

• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED and two years experience in the operation of personal computers or peripheral equipment for installation of software applications.
