Communications Manager & Associate Magazine Editor
This position is a combination of communications management, content creation, writing, editing, and proofing for multiple departments within our association. This well-rounded individual will be responsible for member communication from emails, social media and press releases to writing, editing and proofing magazine content.
Communications Manager Duties
- Work with VP of Member Engagement to develop and implement strategic communications and marketing plans to broaden awareness of NAEDA and business brands.
- Work with VP of Member Engagement to execute copy intended for public consumption to ensure its alignment with the strategic communications plan.
- Assist in the development and execution of electronic communications, including NAEDA’s website, bi-weekly electronic newsletter, press releases, social media platforms and other digital communications.
- Assist in curating content and increasing audience engagement on NAEDA’s websites, newsletter, NAEDA Community, and social media channels.
- Update equipmentdealermagazine.com with new content from magazine, podcasts, webinars, monthly articles and more.
- Serve as point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization and actively cultivate and manage press relationships to ensure coverage of issues of strategic importance to the industry, as well as NAEDA, its brands and events.
- Assist with social media posts and ad campaigns for advertisers and partners.
The Association publishes two quarterly magazines in both the United States and Canada. We are looking for an associate editor to source content from contributors, write and proof the articles and provide the final content to the managing editor and designer.
To ensure success as an associate editor, you should have a keen eye for excellent writing, good proofing skills, and be able to manage projects to completion. A top-notch associate editor will bring several years of experience in various writing and editing roles to the table.
Associate Magazine Editor Duties
- Assisting managing editor with tasks related to the publication.
- Checking the content, spelling, style, and grammar of submitted work.
- Performing research and fact-checking on articles and topics for the publication.
- Collaborating with designers, writers, and photographers.
- Performing editing and proofing on submitted articles.
- Write articles for the magazines.
- Manage U.S. content contributors’ submissions and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications
- At least 4 years’ experience in communications
- Quick learner with skills sets to edit websites, post on social media, social media ad campaigns.
- A confident communicator and presenter.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Superior project management and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
