Job position summary: HACA is looking for a Communications & Marketing Specialist to join our high-performing organization! The Communications & Marketing Specialist is a communications leader that has both creativity and great organizational skills to join our marketing and communications team. This position reports to the Director of Communications & Marketing and will have the opportunity to advance HACA's mission, promote our culture and values and continue to strengthen the HACA brand. This involves crafting strategic messaging, designing collateral and delivering to intended audiences through the appropriate channels and analyzing results and feedback. It also includes shooting and editing digital photos and video content to illustrate organizational stories for social media, website, and marketing to inform the community about HACA's programs, services, and events. Responsibilities: This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter who is intellectually curious, can design quickly without errors and is able to manage numerous projects on tight deadlines. To be most effective, the Communications & Marketing Specialist will need to be an enthusiastic team player with positive energy who can work cross-functionally with internal partners.

HACA will be unveiling a new Strategic Plan for the next five years that will guide and shape the goals for the agency. The Strategic Plan has an enhanced emphasis on public relations, with specific goals aimed at improved digital communication with residents that live at HACA's properties, refreshing the overall HACA brand, and increasing our social media presence. The Communications & Marketing Specialist will be essential in helping to achieve the new Strategic Plan goals.

Qualifications and Knowledge: Required

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design or related field
• One-year post graduation job experience or Two year's internship experience in advertising, communications, journalism, marketing or public relations
• Excellent design skills, especially with a quick turnaround (A design test will be required)
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with frequently changing requirements and deadlines
• Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Spark, with bonus points for knowing Premiere and After Effects); Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Preferred Qualifications: Three years post- graduation job experience in advertising, communications, journalism, marketing or public relations
• Demonstrated experience executing comprehensive strategic communications campaigns to advance an organization's mission and strategic goals and objectives
• Established relationships with media relations professionals
• Experience with Hootsuite or similar social media management software and Working knowledge of WordPress, HTML, and web design, strong understanding of search engines and SEO
