Communication Manager Job at CMACGM

Responsible for :
Implementing all advertising and promotional programs in Latin American and the Caribbean as directed by Corporate Commuinications including:
Advertising in Trade publications
Placement of interesting LATAM local stories
Providing input to HO on press releases for the Latin America and Caribbean market
Maintaining and circulating contact lists of all media representatives
Support HO and local teams in managing crisis
Manage local agencies
Bring a digital mindset and real interest and experience in digital communications
Support strategy and ensure that all directives from HO are well implemented.
Inform HO of all communications actions in the Latin America.
Provide weekly information to Corporate Communications for the Flashnews and Customer News Report (internal communications)
Serve as primary contact for Public Relations/advertising requests that will then be qualified by or handled by Corporate Communications.
Contribute to the development, quality control and implementation of the Latin America communications plan and help manage the communication budget accordingly.
Initiate and maintain positive productive relationships with media sources through consistent contacts to inform and coordinate interviews.
Coordinate the creative and innovative development of internal and external communications that supports the brand and culture to raise our visibility in traditional media.
Compose and edit all press releases and track local media mentions pertaining to our company and industry.
Create content for internal publications, memos and organizational announcements.
Coordination of Industry related events, such as Trade Fairs and Exhibitions in the LATAM & Caribbean Region
Assist HO in translation of communication material for clarity and content for Latin America audiences.
3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Excellent written and oral communication skills both in English and Spanish
Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship development and project management
Must be self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision and work well with external advertising agencies and trade magazines.
Confident strategic thinker who can distill information in clear and concise messages that audiences can understand.
Expertise in writing communications and business correspondence.
Must be deadline focused, flexible with changing priorities and able to handle “urgent” request.
Very hands-on: a doer, who is happy to write and produce
Experience in management is a plus
Experience in managing teams by distance
Experience in a major LATAM market desired
Proficiency in Portuguese is not required but is a plus
4. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required in Arts and/or Communication preferred
5 to 7 years experience in public relations or corporate communications required with demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications.
Proficient PC Skills Required: PowerPoint (Advanced), Outlook, Word, Excel
3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
Proficiency in French preferred
