Scan Global Logistics is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team. This is a direct hire, full time, on-site position based in South San Francisco, CA.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. An individual must have +3 year experience in Ocean & Air Import/Export, BDM or Inside sales experience or F/F Ocean/Air operations processes and procedures.

Deep understanding of the needs of customers and taking required action to make sure that the needs are met, thereby maintaining, and developing positive business relationships with customers. Provides commercial interpretations, clarifications, and definitions to the direct manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales for the SFO Station – dedicate 1 day a week for own sales.
  • Be a buffer between Sales and OPS.
  • Support Sales with rates, current market situation and quotes to existing and new customers
  • Support OPS team in negotiating rates with all vendors and quote existing customers (OI+AI only for SFO)
  • Support OPS team with quoting partners and own SCAN offices.
  • Review import / export routed shipments for more potential
  • Receive and procure leads to our SCAN offices
  • Support with RFQ’s
  • Support with Commercial awareness at the office
  • Monitor shipper’s no-ship report
  • Attend meetings with SCAN offices (trade-lane discussions/consol options) and SALES customers (asset knowledge, market situation).
  • Attend SFO Sales meetings bi-monthly.
  • Monthly team meetings to promote commercial awareness
  • Monitor local and federal regulations

Skills/Abilities

  • Ocean/Air Import minimum +3 years’ experience (is must)
  • Ocean & Air Export minimum +3 years’ experience (is must)
  • BDM or Inside sales experience (preferred)
  • Self-starter with demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity in a high growth environment
  • Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers.
  • Adaptability to accepting responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.
  • Adaptability to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances, or standards.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
