The ideal candidate for this position would effectively manage complex commercial real estate transactions for issuing a wide variety of title insurance products and related endorsements. Combining both closing and underwriting knowledge, this position manages real estate closings for insuring title insurance with a specialization in commercial, multi-site, and multi-state transactions. The Commercial Escrow Officer must exercise independent judgment and possess the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle any situation which may arise during the escrow and closing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain escrow records and files and acts as escrow agent
• Responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned escrow customers/agents. Provides a high level of customer service and develops ongoing escrow referrals from existing escrow customers/agents.
• Maintain records in the escrow accounting system and customer database.
• Develops and/or obtains the appropriate escrow documentation in accordance with policy and procedures and applicable statutory and Federal regulations.
• Reviewing and understanding commercial contracts and escrow agreements
• Making commercial disbursements from settlement statements provided by the agent.
• Preparing commercial settlement statements upon request.
• Understand the process of recording closing documents
• Independently maximize profits and manage and control every aspect of the commercial real estate business for the organization.
• Conduct closing with customers, brokers, lenders, and attorneys.

Knowledge and Skills

• 5 years of related experience directly handling escrow transactions as an Escrow Officer/Assistant
• Knowledge of Commercial real estate accompanying title insurance policies, products, and endorsements required for a wide variety of commercial transactions
• Working knowledge of ALTA survey and other Survey types
• Experienced with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry field
• Currently in an Escrow Officer / Commercial Closer role
• Excellent client relations and organizational skills
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organizations
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages – ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information
• Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents, and brokers
• Excellent client relations and organizational skills
• Knowledge of Title Software programs (RamQuest, Qualia, Resware & SoftPro)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read and interpret documents
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Completion of a High School diploma
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the title insurance industry which includes experience in both title and escrow.
• National experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
