We are seeking a full-time, Monday - Thursday (32 hours per week) Colon & Rectal Surgery Clinic Nurse (RN) to work primarily at our Maple Grove location with travel to Plymouth and Crystal offices.

Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care
- Rooms patients, obtaining and accurately documenting patient vital signs
- Occasionally rounds on hospital consult patients to introduce team as directed/requested by M.D.
- Collects and documents data on patient’s general condition
- Assists providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Performs colostomy/ileostomy and wound care
- Provides patient care as directed by providers
- Documents all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the patient’s medical record
- Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions
- Triages patient phone calls
- Performs telephone duties such as prescription refills, informing patients of test results, pathology results and relaying information and messages so that the communication between clinic and patient is clear and concise
- Performs medication/DMA insurance prior-authorizations
- Performs FMLA and short-term disability paperwork for patients
- Adheres to infection control, safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies
- Transports patients safely using appropriate means
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments as needed
- Tracks pathology reports and relays results to physician
- Tracks colonoscopy recalls and updates the recall data base daily.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirement & Skills
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
- CPR Certification.
- GI/Colorectal experience a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to understand patients' medical records, physician orders and medication orders to be communicated to the patient and clinic staff.
- Strong organization skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain customer service standards.
***If you do not have CPR certification, we are happy to assist you in coordinating a CPR course within one month of your first day of employment.
