Stone CNC Router Operator: Job Description

The CNC Router Operator is responsible for the setup, run cycle, and breakdown of CNC machines for the fabrication of natural stone and manufactured surface projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• General Duties: Efficiently setup, operate, and break down CNC machines for natural stone and manufactured surface projects. Trained candidates will be able to perform required operations, including loading and unloading of parts (stone countertops) and part inspection (quality control). They will be able to move/transport parts to appropriate location as needed.
• Quality Control: Efficiently operate CNC machines in order to attain the required precision for each job. Prior to cutting, review the shop drawings & templates to ensure parts and program is correct.
• Safety: Maintain an efficient, clean & organized work area in compliance with all applicable Federal, state, local & OSHA regulations. Conduct productions operations wearing required safety gear in accordance with OSHA requirements.
• Operation of Equipment: Responsible for the daily maintenance and safe operation of all equipment assigned to you. Maintain a clean and safe work area and report repairs as needed. Operate and maintain all equipment assigned to you in accordance with operating manuals and procedures.

Education and Experience

• Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 1 year of experience and general knowledge of worksite safety and machining operation
• Possess a high work ethic, moral and personal integrity and honesty.
• Ability to read a tape measure.

Language Skills

• Ability to read & comprehend simple instructions in English
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively to other employees in English

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions & decimals

Physical Demands

The positions will require the following physical activities on a regular basis;

• Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing handling & repetitive motions
• Typical noise level for this job is loud to very loud

Required Safety Equipment

• Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, hearing protection, protective goggles, masks, gloves, etc.
