GEODynamics in Benbrook, TX is looking for qualified candidates for Machinist. 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:30pm OT maybe required.

The machinist position will be required to act independently and to partner with individuals in a machine shop environment to use a CNC machine to make oil field components.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
• Loads tools, fixtures, jaws and programs into machines and prove out the previously written program.
• Performs light maintenance on the machines and thoroughly measure parts to the standards of drawing.
• Leads the practices of safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and GEO-specific Health and Safety expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

• Associates degree in Machine Technology or combination of education and experience.
• Journeyman’s or CNC certification preferred.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in CNC machinist and programming experience.
• 2 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Familiarity with cutting tools.
• Ability to safely perform related physical demands of the role: lift up to 70 pounds as needed.
• Ability to set up complicated machine programming from basic set up sheets.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
