The person in this role will be able to setup, troubleshoot and verify that parts conform to prints, processes and procedures. In this role, the correct person will be required to be regular in attendance, versatile witin a production environment, and willing to learn various tyes of equipment as directed.

• Sets up and operates metal grinding machines, CNC and manual specifications: Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods and sequence of operation.
• Selects correct feeds and speeds to grind all types of steel and carbide.
• Set up and program CNC machines to grind.
• Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors such as wheel pressure and depth of grind.
• Locates and marks reamers cutting lines and reference points on work-piece, using instruments such as caliper, along with micrometer.
• Positions work piece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with cutting blades manually.
• Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change and adjust machine settings for multiple passes and grinder wheel.
• Inspects or measures work, using ruler, gauges, micrometer and calipers.
• May operate machines to fabricate nonmetallic materials, such as brass or titanulars.
• May set up and operate grinder machines and experienced tool guides.

Experience:

• Must be a qualified grinder or experienced machinist
• Calipers: 1 year (preferred)
• Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)
