SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess appropriate state license for operating van. (Public Service/ Livery license in Connecticut or Commercial Driver’s License in New York State).
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
• Must have knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and procedures and utilizes appropriately.

EXPERIENCE:
Must be registered certified nurses' aide in accordance with laws of this state. CPR certification preferred, but not necessary. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

EDUCATION:
General work experience in long term care preferred, but not necessary.
