Cloud Architect Job at Unicom Government, Inc.
UNICOM Government, Inc. is looking for an AWS Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect who will be responsible for delivering enterprise-level, security-first AWS services with a focus on technical spec, development, set-up, support, and maintenance of cloud-based services.
You will provide technical & strategic leadership as well as building and advancing our AWS cloud services. The Platform is the foundation to support the modernization of UNICOM Government’s front-end customer technology systems to omni-channel microservices. This role will have a strong influence on the architectural direction for the cloud platform, CI/CD pipeline, security management, and a goal of “automate everything”. This role will focus on reviewing, evaluating, and integrating cutting-edge technologies through partnerships with our vendors and the use of relevant open source technologies.
In this role, you will:
- Strong “security first” advocacy and encourage when creating all AWS services
- Write scalable and maintainable Python 3.x for AWS services (e.g. Lambda, Fargate)
- Design, develop and monitor Websockets and RESTful APIs
- Utilize AWS to create cost-effective and efficient services for file migrations
- Create clean and organized CDK templates and deploy stacks
- Manage the security and organization of files in S3
- Manage Cognito user pool to control API Gateway access
- Shared responsibility for 24x7 research and resolution of production system problems through participation in an on-call rotation
- Evangelize microservice-based architecture using containerized applications
- Advance the Site Reliability Engineering practice – monitoring/alerting, auto-scaling, security, & self-healing system stability
- Stay current on industry trends; innovate through research, proof of concepts, and demos
- Collaborate and pair with the Platform team to ensure knowledge and expertise is shared & developed
- Ensure compliance with applicable security and privacy standards and regulations
- Participates in the recruitment of team members both employees and contractor
- Training and mentoring peers and management
- Shared responsibility for 24x7 research and resolution of production system problems through participation in an on-call rotation
To be successful in this role, you have (required):
- 7+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure as code using Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript
Strong working knowledge of:
- CDK
- Cloud Formation
- API Gateway
- Lambda
- Route53
- JWT, API w/ Websockets, Mutual TLS
- S3
- ECS/Fargate
- DynamoDB
- SQS
