Excelsior Family Medicine is an established clinic of 10 providers working in a cross-disciplinary team to address client needs. Our dedicated providers encourage clients to engage in mental and physical health, and we are proud to support this with the right care at the right time.

REASONABLE CASELOADS:
Excelsior Family Medicine recognizes that mental health counselors are essential for providing quality treatment for the patient. With that in mind we are committed to ensuring that our clinicians are not overburdened with an unreasonably high caseload so that they can focus on providing the highest quality of care to each and every patient. We believe that having a manageable caseload allows clinicians to be more effective and efficient in their treatments, while still having time to dedicate to each client. As the clinical supervisor, a smaller caseload is established so that you have the time that is needed to guarantee quality case supervision and professional assistance to each counselor you supervise.

The Clinical Supervisor will provide direct support and supervision to assigned counselors, as well as carry their own caseload. This role will ensure that assigned counselors are providing services that are in line with our organizational mission, vision, and values.

How to Qualify:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field.
  • Licensure in Washington State as a Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Meets Washington State licensing requirements as an approved clinical supervisor (WAC 246-809-134), or ability to obtain within 1 year of start date and will have title of “clinical lead” until requirements met.
  • Meet requirements for Mental Health Professional credential.
  • Prior experience providing direct supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills; communication skills; ability to process and analyze information effectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of staff members and to collaborate with a diverse staff and clients.
  • Ability to manage individual stress and perform essential job functions in an ethical, safe, and professional manner.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of EMR/EHR systems.
  • A strengths-based approach to clinical and administrative supervision.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Works as part of an intradisciplinary team to assure client needs are addressed and utilizes resources within the department and Excelsior at large through referral pathways.
  • Coordinates with other members on the outpatient behavioral health leadership team to promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Ensures the Admissions department is aware of available clinicians and assists in the assignment of caseloads as needed.
  • Ensures regular supervision occurs with assigned clinicians; keeps up-to-date supervision records (date, duration, and topics); ensures supervision reflects and promotes agency values.
  • Works collaboratively to improve the documentation process and EMR functionality.
  • Responsible for training of new counseling team members.
  • Maintains a personal caseload of enrolled clients as indicated per productivity metrics; ensures compliance with service delivery expectations.
  • Ensures services provided are properly documented in accordance with program, agency, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees implementation of counseling services amongst assigned LMHC employees.
