Job Summary
A Community Bridges Inc. (CBI) Clinical Supervisor is a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional who has met and can produce all credentialing requirements and is in good standing with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) to provide clinical supervision, as defined by 4 A.A.C. 6, to the licensed clinical services staff to whom he or she is assigned. These duties include, per R4-6-101, “face-to-face, videoconferencing or telephonic direction or oversight provided by a qualified individual to evaluate, guide and direct all behavioral health services provided by a licensee to assist the licensee to develop and improve the necessary knowledge, skills, techniques and abilities to allow the licensee to engage in the practice of behavioral health ethically, safely and competently.” The Clinical Supervisor is required to provide clinical supervision in accordance with all rules and regulations as stipulated in 4 A.A.C. 6 as well as in accordance with all relevant Codes of Ethics including that of CBI, the American Counseling Association, the National Association of Social Workers, and any other professional associations that govern the credentials of the Clinical Supervisor and his/her supervisees. The Clinical Supervisor is required to complete the required clinical supervision for his/her assigned supervisees as well as to keep accurate and timely documentation of all clinical supervision that takes place in accordance with R4-6- 212.F.4, with copies provided both to the supervisee and CBI’s Training and Education Department. The Clinical Supervisor is required to communicate with the Director of Clinical Services or designee any and all concerns regarding the professional performance of his/her supervisees to ensure the safety of all patient/participants being served. The Clinical Supervisor does not provide direct, administrative supervision to those supervisees to which he/she is assigned and will direct any questions or concerns that a supervisee may have regarding CBI policies and procedures to the supervisee’s direct supervisor.

Education and Experience Required
- Ensures that all assigned supervisees receive a minimum of one (1) hour of clinical supervision, as defined in R4-6- 101, for every forty (40) hours worked.
- Provides clinical supervision in accordance with the requirements set forth by 4 A.A.C. 6 including, but not limited to:
- No more than 25 percent of clinical supervision hours may be acquired telephonically (R4-6-212.D);
- All supervisees must receive a minimum of 10 hours of clinical supervision obtained during direct observation or a review of audio or video tapes by the clinical supervisor while the supervisee is providing treatment and evaluation services to a patient/participant (R4-6-212.G); and Group supervision hours shall not exceed individual supervision hours for any supervisee (R4-6-212.I) and no more than 6 supervisees can attend any given group supervision session.
- Provides clinical supervision that includes all of the following (R4-6-212.F)
- Review of ethical and legal requirements applicable to supervisee’s practice, including unprofessional conduct as defined in A.R.S. 32-3251(12);
- Monitoring of the supervisee’s activities to verify that he/she is providing services safely and competently.
- Verification that the supervisee provides patient/participants with the appropriate written notice, developed by CBI, of clinical supervision.
- Documentation written and maintained by the clinical supervisor for a minimum of seven (7) years of all clinical supervision sessions that, for each clinical supervision session, at a minimum, includes the date and duration of each clinical supervision session, a comprehensive clinical description of topics discussed during each clinical supervision session, the name and signature of the supervisee, the name, signature, and telephone number of the clinical supervisor and the date signed, and whether the clinical supervision occurred on a group or individual basis. All documentation of clinical supervision sessions will be completed on the CBI-approved form and copies will be provided to CBI’s Training and Education Department for maintenance.
- Verification that no conflict of interest exists between the clinical supervisor and the supervisee.
- Verification that no conflict of interest exists between the supervisee and the supervisee’s patient/participants; and
- Monitoring of the supervisee’s clinical documentation through on-going compliance review to ensure that the supervisee maintains adequate written documentation.
