Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs professional casework and clinical services with clients
• Assesses and monitors client’s behaviors while in treatment for chemical and alcohol abuse and dependency.
• Works as a team member with other professionals
• Participates in evaluative and diagnostic staff conferences
• Conducts individual, family and group therapy, interviews clients and relatives
• Participates in collaborative treatment with representatives of other agencies
• Prepares verbal, written, and statistical reports
• Attends conferences, workshops, and training to maintain current awareness of mental health methodologies and issues
• Communicates effectively with others in person and over the telephone
• Analyze data, interpret directions, procedures, and regulations, and develop appropriate responses
• Develops forms for the program
• Conducts outcome assessments, collects data, and analyzes the data
• Oversight and maintenance of adherence to Joint Commission regulations
• Maintain confidential information in accordance with legal standards and/or County regulations
• Attends community functions and makes presentations
• May be assigned some lead and special work coordination responsibilities

Required Skills:

• Principles, procedures, techniques, trends of clinical and casework services, counseling, and treatment.
• Social aspects and characteristics of mental and emotional disturbances
• A wide variety of therapeutic and treatment approaches for persons with mental and emotional problems.
• Scope, availability, and activities of community resources, including other mental health and social service agencies
• Current trends in mental hygiene, mental health, public health, and social services, including State and Federal programs in these areas.
• Expert communication skills and counseling abilities
• Current license as a Clinical Psychologist issued by the California State Board of Psychology.

Education and minimum qualifications:

• Must obtain a license as a Clinical Psychologist under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
• Must possess a PhD or PsyD.
• Must have at minimum two-year experience in Drug and Alcohol counseling.
• Must be very familiar with HIPAA/client confidentiality and personal rights.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License
• Must possess a current CPR and First Aid certification.

Salary: $120,000- $160,000
