Clinical Education Coordinator, Cardiovascular Sonography Job at Forsyth Technical Community College
The Clinical Education Coordinator will be a member of a diverse team that supports student achievement and success from recruitment through graduation and beyond, advancing equitable economic mobility, personal empowerment, and transformed communities. The Clinical Education Coordinator is the full-time faculty member responsible for a course and/or courses that include a clinical education component and will recruit, mentor, supervise, and evaluate part-time faculty and students in the allied health Cardiovascular Sonography and will work directly for the Program Coordinator of the CVS program. In addition, this individual also has all of the duties and responsibilities of a full- time instructor. Other duties include budget oversight and long-term planning. Specifically, this person oversees all CVS clinical courses, testing, clinical training, clinical competency, clinical scheduling for both students and clinical instructors, communication/supervision for 3+ part-time CVS clinical instructors, final grade calculations for clinical courses, organization of all clinical files, clinical orientations and onboarding all students and CVS faculty to 9+ different clinical sites.

Evaluates student learning by creating and implementing well-designed assessment tools. Additionally, participates in curriculum development, mentoring of students, helps students connect with academic and non-academic supports services as needed, and engages in institutional service, professional development, and other duties assigned by the Department Chair and Dean. This role also keeps accurate records pertaining to students and adheres to all institutional policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications

This role also keeps accurate records pertaining to students and adheres to all institutional policies and procedures.
- Associate degree in Cardiovascular Sonography or Adult Echocardiography Diploma and a Bachelor’s degree in any field. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.
- Two years of documented, relevant, post-certification work experience in Cardiovascular Sonography
- Hold credentials for Cardiovascular Sonography RDCS or RCS (ARDMS, CCI)
- Have a current Basic Life support (BLS/CPR) certification through the American Heart Association
- Willingness and ability to teach face-to-face classes, online asynchronous, and online synchronous classes.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work at multiple campuses or offsite locations as necessary.
- Flexibility to teach morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes as needed.
- Understanding of assessment and continuous improvement.
- Experience with appropriate technology including Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation and collaboration apps and software
- Ability to work in a diverse environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Successful teaching experience in Adult Echocardiography clinical setting
- Experience with distance learning technologies
- Experience with multi-cultural pedagogy and demonstration of developing multi-cultural curricula
