Position Overview
Youth Community Crisis Stabilization (YCCS) services are available to individuals up to and including 18 years of age. YCCS offers short-term, 24/7, staff-secure, safe, and structured crisis treatment services in a community-based program that serves as a medically necessary, less-restrictive and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. YCCS shall be primarily used as a diversion from an inpatient level of care and must provide assessments for substance use disorders and facilitate warm hand offs for initiation of MOUD services as clinically appropriate. YCCS programs are for children up to and including age 12 for latency programs and 13-18 for adolescent. Each unit consists of up to 9 beds.
The Clinical Director works with the management team to ensure all clients and families receive the highest quality of care across all YCCS programs. Consistency throughout the milieu department is critical, while still valuing the unique culture of each program and site. The Clinical Director is committed to program growth/expansion, recruitment and staff retention, marketing, operations, and budgeting, while simultaneously overseeing quality improvement of these quickly expanding, enthusiastic, and talented teams. The Clinical Director is a multi-talented leader who has strong operations/administrative skills, as well as an understanding and desire to provide high quality wraparound services to clients and families. The Clinical Director is a “face” of the programs for Italian Home for Children (IHC) and represents the agency at all necessary external trainings and meetings. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Milieu Programs, while also working closely with the milieu management team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
External Relations/Program Development
- Ensure regulatory compliance through the development of policies and procedures; assist in implementing quality improvement plans
- Attend external meetings as a representative of IHC; market the YCCS to increase referrals; develop relationships with external community agencies in the Metro Boston area
- Create a comprehensive business plan with deliverables within 45 days
- Oversee the use of all funds, including overseeing all monthly reports
- Launch new outreach programming
- Manage and build capacity
- Secure all necessary requirements of the program
- Expand community relationships
Administrative
- Streamline policies and procedures across programs
- Create and respond to milieu Department budget performance; reach budget targets through personnel development, expense monitoring, and productivity monitoring
- Ensure all milieu documentation is completed appropriately and timely
- Lead monthly staff meetings across YCCS with program leaders and staff
- Lead staff trainings (e.g., HIPPA compliance, sexual harassment, emergency protocols)
- Maintain calendar of meetings and create/update day/evening senior on-call rosters
- Oversee all DMH, CARF accreditation audits and other stakeholder expectations
- Build connections and regular contact and collaboration with all IHC programs
- Attend Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) train the trainer program; regularly provide 3.5-day initial training and annual refresher training to staff agency-wide
- Oversee all outcome data collection across CBP programs
- Submit and approve all orders and supplies for YCCS programs
- Run weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality assurance meetings for YCCS programs
- Communicate with maintenance department regarding campus client and staff complaints/concerns
- Oversee meeting room reservations, office, and parking assignments for staff
- On-call for all urgent administrative matters when the AVP is unavailable
Staff/Talent
- Actively recruit and interview applicants together with program leaders
- Create strong and meaningful external relationships for the purpose of recruitment of personnel
- Oversee new staff onboarding and annual trainings required by accreditation and insurance entities
- Invest time and energy in the professional development of staff, envisioning their path for growth
- Motivate staff to embrace change and constantly strive for improvement and highest standards, while promoting team building, unity, and a positive work environment
- Easily accessible for staff feedback, questions, and concerns
- Collaborate with Intake Coordinator
- Maintain staff morale across milieu programs, highlighting program integration, and valuing of staff/program strengths and differences
- Coordinate all activities/group events to boost staff morale across milieu programs
- Update all staff personal contact information for emergency response
Essential Qualifications
- Independent Massachusetts State license (LICSW or LMHC)
- Experience providing critical feedback to staff
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
Compensation
$75,000-$85,000 Annually
Commensurate with experience; excellent benefits and great work environment
