Our programs for students, adults and community members include education, employment training, transition services, residential care, therapeutic and recreational services.The Clinical Director administers, supervises and coordinates staff and programs of the Clinical Department.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for general coordination and supervision of the work of the Clinical Services Department, including social workers, mental health counselors, BCBAs, and support teamWorks with the assistant clinical director to ensure continuity of careResponsible for hiring, orienting and supervising all clinical staffConducts bi-weekly clinical meetings and works closely with the consulting psychiatristAttends Board of Admissions and Department Health meetingsProvides in-service training on behavioral/psychiatric topics as necessary or requestedAssures compliance with Department of Education and Office for Children regulations relative to Time Out Room use and other possibly controversial behavioral interventionsAttends IEPs, progress reviews and staffing when clinically important and necessaryAssists in establishing behavioral policies relating to students in conjunction with Behavioral Management Committee or other administrative and direct care staffWorks with other department heads in implementing training in non violent crisis prevention for all direct care staffParticipates on rotating basis on administrative on-call; on call for other behavioral emergenciesUpholds the mission and corporate values of St. Coletta and Cardinal Cushing Schools of MassachusettsRegular attendance and promptly reporting to work at the beginning of the scheduled shift are essential functions of this positionClinical: Provides family therapy/consultation when indicatedCoordinates prescription and monitoring of psychoactive medication with consulting psychiatrist, Health Center and also involved staff and parentsProvides clinical supervision of clinical staff Provides consultation to academic and residential staff as requestedAssists families in the guardianship processIntervenes physically in behaviorally aggressive situations using Safety Care techniquesAssumes additional responsibilities as assigned
