Compensation Range: $18.60 - $26.76 / Hour

Department: 634001 Psychiatric - ICU

Expectations:
Provides direct patient care service on a patient-centered care unit as determined by the patient's plan of care and supervised by a Registered Nurse or LIP.
This position may require flexibility of hours.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
One year of prior experience in clinical patient care in an acute care behavioral setting (Current CNA may be substituted for the one year experience requirement).
Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems preferred.
Knowledge/experience with use of medical terminology.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Required:
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

SKILLS:
Ensures unit safety by conducting daily safety rounds/environmental checks per shift.

• Assists the Licensed Registered Nurse during the admission process by inventorying and documenting patient belongs.
• Ensures safety on the units by restricting use of contraband by any patient, visitor, and/or customer.
• Escorts patient’s to department of mental health court for hearings as needed.
• Ensures safety of patient when assigned to be an individual 1:1 sitter on Della Martin Center or with other psychiatric patient’s in the general hospital.
• Provides Q15 rounds of all patient’s on the locked units and Q30 rounds on the voluntary units.
• Cross trained and competent to work on any DMC inpatient unit.
