The Passaic County Department of Senior Services, Disability & Veterans Affairs – Nutrition/Meals on Wheels Division, is seeking an individual with a pleasant personality for the position of Clerk Driver. The ideal candidate will deliver daily meals to our homebound residents. The examples of work for this title are for illustrative purposes only. • Drives a motor vehicle for the purpose of delivering meals and deliverables to homebound residents.
• Load and unload meal items for distribution to participants and sites.
• Understanding of safe driving principles, including rules and regulations on safety driving.
• Checks vehicle for operating safety; Inspects vehicle at start and end of each trip for cleanliness and general condition.
• Submit report on vehicle repairs to office immediately.
• Drop vehicle off to garage for repairs and assigned detailing shop.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
• Ability to drive vehicles in a skilled and safe manner.
• Knowledge of safety precautions in dealing with the elderly and disabled population.
• Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or information systems used by the division.
• knowledge of the care, maintenance, minor servicing, and competent, safe, and efficient operation of motor vehicles.

Experience: Willingness to support our mission in providing for the elderly.

License: Must posses a driver's license valid in New Jersey
