Job Purpose:

To assist in providing efficient and environmentally safe cleaning operations

Duties:

• General laborer
• Setting up equipment
• Learn how to operate different equipment with proper training
• Learn all difference aspects of barge cleaning
• Able to interact effectively with co-workers
• Able to meet strict or pressing deadlines
• Willing to work other than scheduled times when needed to meet deadlines or ensure that daily work is completed
• Perform other duties as instructed by Supervisor

Learn all aspects of a Class B Operator:

• Must be knowledgeable and able to perform all duties of Class C and Class D Operator
• Must be knowledgeable in setting up barges for all different kinds of cleanings

Must be knowledgeable in operating the following equipment:

• Forklift
• Air Compressor
• Boiler
• Must be able to lead a crew
• PIC required
• Competent person required
• Must be knowledgeable to prepare and complete all required paperwork

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have TWIC card
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Must be able to communication effectively with co-workers
• Must be able to pass company physical / fit test / drug & alcohol screening

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs repeatedly for the duration of the shift
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; bend, kneel and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects
• Ability to climb ladders – not afraid of heights
• Ability to work inside of barges – not claustrophobic
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, etc.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather situations
