Class C Operator - Day Shift Job at Garner Environmental Services Inc
Job Purpose:
To assist in providing efficient and environmentally safe cleaning operations
Duties:
- General laborer
- Setting up equipment
- Learn how to operate different equipment with proper training
- Learn all difference aspects of barge cleaning
- Able to interact effectively with co-workers
- Able to meet strict or pressing deadlines
- Willing to work other than scheduled times when needed to meet deadlines or ensure that daily work is completed
- Perform other duties as instructed by Supervisor
Learn all aspects of a Class B Operator:
- Must be knowledgeable and able to perform all duties of Class C and Class D Operator
- Must be knowledgeable in setting up barges for all different kinds of cleanings
Must be knowledgeable in operating the following equipment:
- Forklift
- Air Compressor
- Boiler
- Must be able to lead a crew
- PIC required
- Competent person required
- Must be knowledgeable to prepare and complete all required paperwork
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have TWIC card
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to communication effectively with co-workers
- Must be able to pass company physical / fit test / drug & alcohol screening
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs repeatedly for the duration of the shift
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; bend, kneel and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects
- Ability to climb ladders – not afraid of heights
- Ability to work inside of barges – not claustrophobic
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, etc.
- Willingness to work in inclement weather situations
