The Claim Tech is responsible for contributing to the overall success of OneAmerica objectives by providing timely and accurate administrative support to the Claims department. This role provides assistance with correspondence handling to ensure efficient processing of claim files. The Claim Technician maintains a level of participation and commitment to the Claims department by providing support services to the claim staff and assisting with special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Index incoming mail, fax messages and email by adding metadata to the image system.
• Process emails that require special handling.
• Process outgoing mail and prepare outgoing UPS/FedEx packages.
• Copy/Scan files and document/upload documents to the image system.
• Track incoming checks and deliver to Finance in a timely manner.
• Prepare clinical referrals and submit to vendors.
• Manage multiple incoming email boxes.
• Monitor envelopes, paper and supplies, advising when to order and distribute throughout the building upon receipt.
• Perform/Assist with special projects as requested.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate willingness for additional training or continuing education.

REQUIREMENTS:

• H.S Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year working in a fast-paced office environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 1A

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Portland, ME. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in Maine as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
