Civil Project Engineer - Columbia, SC
Parrish & Partners is hiring a Project Engineer to advance our growing Airport Civil Engineering team. In this role, you will be working on engineering projects at municipal, county, regional, and air carrier airports. If you are self-motivated, enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and possess the communication skills necessary to coordinate with staff, review agencies, and other design disciplines, you could be the right fit for this position.
The functions of this position include:
- Leading design development and preparation of plans, specifications, design calculations, and other technical documents
- Collecting and analyzing project data
- Mentoring junior staff
- Using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software
- Using Microsoft Excel to calculate quantities and develop cost estimates
- Coordinating with clients to ensure their complete satisfaction
- Coordinating the efforts of subconsultants
- Working with other design disciplines
- Assisting with future staff hires as necessary
- Communicating clearly and working in a team-oriented environment
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- 4+ years of design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience in construction administration
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. The position sometimes requires long hours.
