Summary: The Civil Engineer Associate is as a member of the engineering design team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide civil engineering services within a dedicated design team. Accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for our multi-site clients and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following statements.

• Assists in preparing complete, accurate and code compliant construction documents.
• Assists in providing technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
• Assisting in resolving plan review comments from code officials.
• Adheres to CAD standards and follows assigned drafting protocol across all projects.
• Responsible for maintaining project schedules, deadlines and commitments.
• Works with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.
• Engages in personal and professional growth opportunities within Sevan.
• Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

Minimum 4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent; 0 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and advanced techniques. Expertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials. Experience in multi-site projects preferred. EIT license preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Capable to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to successfully collaborate with multiple people to achieve a common goal. Ability to research, adapt and learn new industry standards, technical advancements and software techniques under constantly changing competitive market demands. Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization. Receive feedback and direction from others.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD (required), Civil 3D (preferred), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet.
