The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking to hire a Chief Data and Analytics Officer. This position is responsible for the agency's Information Technology (IT) Database management unit and will oversee the daily operations, analytics, reporting, governance, framework, conveying data insights and Business Intelligence platforms.
- Develops, maintains and drives the adoption of ADCRR Data strategy including Data Governance, analytics, quality and Business Intelligence
- Provides vision and strategy for all initiatives related to data including new data-driven business efficiencies, improved data quality and Business Intelligence
- Implements the Business intelligence and analysis capabilities to enable data-driven business decision making
- Assumes ownership for data architecture and modeling
- Manages ADCRR’s IT Data team and provides leadership to managers and technical staff
- Identifies and mitigates resource constraints
- Reviews team performance and reports progress on projects, operational status and Key Performance Indicators to executive leadership
- Works with the organization's Information Security and Privacy Officers to implement data management best practices
- Enforces data policies and standards for core data governance and data management
- Collaborates with business data owners to identify and mitigate compliance or operational risks originating from data quality issues
- Establishes data vendor management, governance and oversight
- Works with data owners and stewards to achieve data quality targets
- Establishes and monitors agency-wide data quality efforts and functions as the centralized authority for data issue resolutions
- Ensures the design and build of strategic business solutions comply with data policies, information and management strategies
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Five (5) years of Senior Management experience supervising data professionals
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
