Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Inc. (SCBT) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated full time Chemical Laboratory Assistant. This position is responsible for handling and processing SCBT’s ChemCruz™ biochemical product line and requires high attention to detail. This position reports to the Chemical Laboratory Assistant Manager.

We have over 60 international distributors and offices in Dallas, TX, Santa Cruz and Paso Robles, CA, Shanghai, China and Heidelberg, Germany

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

· Assists in labeling and packaging ChemCruz™ biochemicals.

· Ensures product information is entered in the system accurately and chemicals are labeled correctly.

· Organizes chemical documentation including Certificates of Analysis and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other internal documents.

· Put away process of biochemicals requires exposure to moderate (4°C) to extreme (-20°C) cold temperatures.

· Diligently follows established procedures and is able identify and bring forth any procedural discrepancies or improvements.

· Communicates regularly with experienced on-site laboratory staff as well as off site management regarding workflow, procedures and updates.

· Adheres to strict deadlines.

· Participates in safety trainings and meetings and comply with company’s safety policies.

· Works in a safe manner with all chemical compounds.

· Assist in shipping of chemicals that are considered Dangerous Goods (DG). Must be DG certified or willing to be DG certified,

· Must work a set schedule, Monday through Friday

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Some college required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong data entry skills and the desire to maintain a high level of accuracy. The ideal candidate will be flexible, highly organized, willing to learn and implement new procedures and be effective as an independent contributor to the chemical team.
